I recently visited Kampong Botanical Gardens, and I must say, it's a fantastic place! The lush greenery and vibrant blooms make it a photographer's paradise, with endless opportunities for stunning photos. It's also an ideal spot for a relaxing picnic amidst the natural beauty.
What sets Kampong Botanical Gardens apart is its status as a living estate. The rich biodiversity and carefully curated plant collections provide a unique opportunity to connect with nature and learn about various plant species. It's both educational and enjoyable, making it a must-visit for nature enthusiasts and families alike. Don't miss out on this hidden gem!
It was a very calm and serene place. Visited Miami during vacation and this was one of the last places during that visit. The park bench at the edge of the property was the best spot for me.
Visiting the Kampong was an experience to remember. We were absolutely in awe of the stunning beauty this place had to offer. Walking the grounds in nature was both educational and grounding.
I read in a review that there will be butterflies - well, did not really see any butterflies, but:
A crocodile 2 meters away from me
Giant iguanas
Ibis
Colorful big crab
It was spectacular. The plants are gorgeous and seeing all these animals that I didn't expect made me very happy. I was the only visitor for a while and could walk around in the quiet so got lucky to take pictures of the animals. Highly recommend!
Marvelous place to visit. Went on a weekday late morning and it was perfect. They have guided tours and independent tours. The land is just enough to explore, not overwhelmingly big. Just right. They have various plants, trees, veggies, fruits and flowers that just capture so much beauty. Right on the water is so peaceful and quite. They have scientists and volunteers that stay on the property so be mindful of them. Kampong has a great assortment of butterflies as well. They have indoors where you can explore the living quarters. You will not be disappointed with your visit! Parking is down the trail to the left. Not much parking so make sure you reserve your visit!
Great garden! A lot of great plants. There was no visitor ls except me and my friends, that was cool
This place is a sanctuary for the soul, coming here makes my week. Thank you for maintaining the best, most intimate botanical garden in Miami.
I have so much to say, but I'll keep it simple: The Kampong is a gem! You must visit and support their work, especially if you live in the area. I'm so glad I came across this tropical botanical garden. I was born and raised in the Caribbean and thought I knew a thing or two about the flora. Yet I learned so much more by spending a couple of hours here reading and learning about the fruits, their origins, the conservation efforts, the application of ancestral knowledge, the experiences afforded to students and volunteers, and more. The staff were friendly, welcoming, and incredibly knowledgeable. I will visit again.
